Treponema Pallidum Antibody (TPAB)

Treponema Pallidum Antibody Test is considered to be the most sensitive test for the detection of syphilis at all stages. It helps detect the presence of antibodies against the bacterial antigen in the blood of patients suffering from syphilis. The test results can determine the presence of any current or even past infection since the bacteria can remain in the body for years. It’s usually done if the initial screening tests come positive for syphilis. The TPAB Test is prescribed for people who engage in unprotected sexual activities, as well as people who have certain symptoms of syphilis, which include - sores, skin rashes, hair loss, swollen lymph nodes, fatigue, headache, fever and/or weight loss.
